First place at the 2016 Bulgarian Open Championship

The Bulgarian Open Championship 2016 for Youth-A (B) took place on 26 March 2016.

As part of their preparation for the European Cup, seven Moldovan athletes took part in this traditional competition against Bulgaria's strongest young athletes.

Category "A" was contested as a tetrathlon (riding was dropped from the programme due to age restrictions). In category "B", athletes competed in biathle (100 m swimming and 1600 m running).

On the first day, in the 200 m swim, Moldovan athlete Valentin Samsonov took the lead and held it through to the final event, the combined, ultimately earning a well-deserved first place in the individual standings.

After a hard-fought contest, the young Moldovan athletes secured a convincing victory in the team standings.
