Kyiv City Open Modern Pentathlon Championship

The Kyiv City Open Modern Pentathlon Championship has come to an end.

The Kyiv City Open Modern Pentathlon Championship for all ages took place on 2-3 April.

The championship brought together more than 300 athletes from Kyiv and the Kyiv region, Lviv, Zhytomyr and Moldova.

On 2 April the participants competed in swimming and fencing, and on 3 April in shooting, running and show jumping.

For many young athletes this competition was their international debut, a chance not only to gain competition experience but also to expose weak points in their preparation.

Almost all of the Moldovan athletes performed well.

In the team standings, 3rd place went to the U17 cadet team: Ivan Rusin, Kim Pavlov and Daniil Sukhoveev.

In the individual junior standings, 2nd and 3rd places went to Alex Vasilianov and Valentin Samsonov. The winner was Oleg Ignatiev (Kyiv region).
